So I wrote a book. Yes a book, and so I got feedback from a REAL author about my book. So, I’m going to name a few things that she told me and how I use that.
But first I have to say how I started this book. My book is named Voyager 8. But first we had to make a super unrealistic “what if” question. Mine was what if there was people in a voyager space ship. And my story turned out really well with that base question.
As we started making our rough draft, we got to meet Frances Dowell for the first time! We got in a call with her and she gave us some beginners tips and we could ask questions. These tips were great and really helped us to build our story’s .
Once we had our book almost done we got to read a small sample of it to her (That’s also how she gave us feedback.) I’d say my sample was pretty strong. Though I wished I had pick the very end of the book since its a super big cliffhanger.
Anyways, here’s what feedback I got. She told me to make rougher problems. For example, I have issues that are like “uh oh a storm is coming seek shelter! Okay we’re fine now!” Accept A LOT more professional. So I roughed it up and it’s a lot better now. Another thing is she was telling other people to fix dialogue issues with like too much of it, so I tried fixing my dialogue issues. It didn’t work… And the best part was Frances saying she liked my story! It feels great.
