So I Invested stocks (Not with real money) . Let me tell you how I got to do this.
In class we were reading this book called The Westing Game and this character was into stocks and investments, and the cool thing is. They were my age! So that’s basically what got us to do this.
Now is the fun part. We got a budget of $20,000. Then we got to check out the stocks app on our ipads and browse the stocks that we might have wanted to invest in. Here’s a list of the stocks I invested in and why I invested in them.
My 1st investment was Amazon. It was a senseless purchase. Since I saw Amazon go up at the time I got it I just thought it would be smart. Overall, I lost from Amazon. My second is Delta Airlines. I chose that because it was starting to bounce back and start getting flyers again. I gained roughly 300 dollars from Delta. My 3rd was Duke Energy because I saw an advertisement about it and I knew Duke Energy was going to go up because of all the progress in renewable energy they were making. I overall made 500 dollars from Duke Energy! My 4th was General Motors. I chose GM because I saw that they said they wanted all their cars electric by 2030 and that was A big leap that I thought would benefit them. I made roughly $250 from GM. My 5th was American Airlines. I saw that the AAL stocks were dirt cheap and I knew If I bought now I would make a lot of money when they go back up again. And I made 600 dollars from AAL. My 7th and final stock was Formula 1 Group. Since the new F1 season was starting I thought the stocks would go up… Apparently not. I lost money from FWONK.
I overall made $1,675.01 over the 2 months we were recording and keeping track of our stocks.
Now you may be wondering how we recorded these stocks. We used google sheets. The cool thing is google sheets makes it so you can make formulas which basically do the math for you when it comes to adding up the money you made from the multiple stocks.
This project was really fun to do and I hope I can do it with real money in the future!
